ABSTRACT

Dr. Reynolds describes the general history of the Buros Institute, including historical context, biographical information about Oscar and Luella Buros, development of the Institute and its goals, financial struggles, and early work on the Yearbook. 

PRESENTER BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Reynolds obtained his PhD in Educational Psychology in 1978 from the University of Georgia, as well as a MEd in Psychometrics and an EdS in School Psychology.  In the summer of 1978, he took an academic position at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.  During this period, he sought grant funding to bring the Buros Institute to the University of Nebraska.  He also served as interim director at the Buros Institute.  In 1981, he left Nebraska to take an academic position at Texas A&M University, where he served as a Professor of Educational Psychology, a Professor of Neuroscience, and a Distinguished Research Scholar.  In 2006, he received recognition as Buros Distinguished Reviewer of the Year.  He retired from TAMU in 2008 and was honored with the title of Emeritus.  Dr. Reynolds has also maintained a clinical practice for over 25 years and is currently an active consultant in forensic neuroscience.
